Is Chinese New Year just about receiving red packets and celebrating with family? Or is there a story hidden inside the tradition that even most Chinese have forgotten?
Pastor Steve Cioccolanti reveals the fascinating origins of the Chinese, the striking parallels between the Chinese and the Jews, and what one ancient Chinese character remembers about the Tower of Babel. Then he unwraps the red packet itself: the legend behind it, the demon it was meant to keep away, and its connection to the blood of Jesus.
"If only adults would receive God's red packet like little children, their lives would be instantly changed."
Whether you celebrate the festival or love someone who does, you will come away able to explain the Gospel through a tradition they already treasure. Watch it before the next Lunar New Year.
