I hope you do!
Maybe you could get away without using soap for a day. But could you imagine going without soap for a week or year?
Soap washes away filth. It cleanses and restores your skin back to its natural state. Sometimes a harsher soap is necessary as a stripping agent to cut away the grease and grime.
If you didn’t use soap everyday, you would look OK to the outside world for the first week. On the surface (and from a distance) others would pass you by, not noticing anything wrong.
After a week though, you would feel uncomfortable. You would smell. You would feel gross.
And if you continued the pattern, you’d eventually get to a point where everything in life would break down.
Soap is essential for keeping your outside clean.
How much more essential is reading the Word of God daily which keeps your inside clean?
Unfortunately, most Christians have gotten comfortable being covered in layers of dirt. They don’t even realize they are covered in it.
The Bible is your daily soap which strips away the dirt and grime to reveal something clean and white underneath.
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV
